Let's cut to the chase—2023 rocked! In early December, we hit a whopping 1,000,000 unique visitors on thisiseindhoven.com and turned our plans into action across all our programs. In the past, we created physical city guides featuring the season's highlights. However, due to their single-use design and the limited lifespan of the content, these guides no longer align with our current strategy. We needed a solution: How can we meet visitors' needs for sustainably?

Wrap up the Year
Eindhoven designers are applying a distinctive design touch to this year's festive decorations downtown, marking the third edition of Wrap up the Year—a campaign presented by Stichting Binnenstad Eindhoven in collaboration with the city marketing organisation, Eindhoven365. The city center was adorned with exclusive Christmas scenes and refined mood lighting, complemented by an extensive holiday program designed for residents and visitors.

Special projects
Convention Bureau Brainport Eindhoven
Convention Bureau Brainport Eindhoven is actively attracting high-quality business visitors. We focus on securing international conferences that enhance the profile of Eindhoven and the Brainport region. In 2023, we achieved significant milestones, including participation in international expos, a successful FAMtrip during GLOW, and a strengthened collaboration with the congress bureau of the TU/e.
This resulted in securing 13 conferences for 2023 and the upcoming years, hosting over 5,500 conference attendees and generating an economic value of 43 million euros. In collaboration with PhotonDelta and partners, under the guidance of the Event Design Collective and our convention bureau, we have developed a multi-year strategy for the growth of a European congress on integrated photonics, with Brainport Eindhoven as its foundation.

Open Eindhoven
The Open Eindhoven project is our ongoing effort to clearly and enthusiastically explain the city's major transformation to locals and visitors. This year, we've teamed up with the Eindhoven municipality to take big strides in place-making (improving public spaces) and public communication. We've also enhanced the digital info on openeindhoven.nl and are actively updating details on all construction projects. Plus, there's a cool interactive model of the KnoopXL Station Area in the works, set to move to a shared presentation space soon.
Eindhoven247
Our colleagues from Eindhoven247 made their positive mark on the city marketing strategy again this year. Whether welcoming visitors at Tourist Information Eindhoven, managing the events desk for Park Hilaria, attracting international sports events to the city, or supporting Depot Eindhoven— they did it all. To top it off, Eindhoven247 successfully organized the first edition of New Year's EHVE.
